One of the main activities a small business owner must pay attention to is: Filling the Pipeline. Why? Because, your pipeline is your lifeline. Over the years, I’ve been called in to help several small business owners who had not paid attention to their pipeline and the business was drying up. It was too late to help, sadly.
Resolve now to pay attention daily to your pipeline. Networking well is just one of several activities that will bring focus to this business lifeline. NEVER stop prospecting. Whether times are good or bad, keep your pipeline full and flowing. If you wait to prospect until you are looking for your next client, it will be too late to experience the kind of results you need to keep your business flourishing.
A few questions to ask yourself about your networking skills:
* Am I very aware of my target market?
* Do I have a great business card?
* Do I have a great voicemail message on my business phone?
* Do I have a good signature for business e-mail messages?
* Does my 60 second introduction capture attention?
* Do I make sure I arrive on time to networking events?
* Am I creating a credible business presence?
Happy Networking!
